Unix Software: Document Processing: Adobe Acrobat Reader
Description
The Adobe Acrobat reader is used to display Portable Document
Format (.pdf) files, either as a standalone command-line program
or, more commonly, as a web browser plugin.
Location
It is available on all department Solaris systems. The package
can be found under /usr/site/AcroRead/.
Commands
acroread filename.pdf where filename.pdf is the name
of a PDF file you wish to view.
Documentation
See the Acrobat PDF for documentation. If
your browser is not currently configured to handle PDFs, you can save
the file to disk and run the reader from the command line. See your
web browser documentation or a system administrator to set up your
web browser to handle PDFs automatically.
