I received my Ph.D./ B.S. degree in Mineralogy and Petrology from
University of Vienna, Austria. There I worked on ultramafic and mafic
ophiolitic sections of Eastern Alps, investigated mainly peridotites,
serpentinites and mafic metamorphic rocks. I participated in
geodynamic projects on "Eastern Taurus Ophiolites" at Mineral
Research and Exploration Institute, Ankara, Turkey before I moved to
US in 1980. Since then, I held a teaching position at University of
New Orleans, Louisiana, Department of Geology and Geophysics. Then in
1992, I moved to Houston where I now work as a "Research Scientist"
at Rice University and also teach Mineralogy and Optics
(Geol
311).
