The three main destinations that our American clients tend to fly to first are Paris, Madrid and London - probably in that order.

You can get relatively cheap flights from London with www.easyjet.com via Stansted airport. However, this would mean travelling from either Heathrow or Gatwick airport first. Unless you flew from London to Bilbao on the Friday evening. This is an option that a few people take up as it gives people a day to recover from the flight and a chance to see the Guggenheim and have a look around Bilbao.
